Presentation
The citole and the gittern were some of the most important plucked string instruments of the Middle Ages. They flourished between the twelfth and the fourteenth centuries and were used by both jongleurs and clerics to perform instrumental music, and accompany lyrical and dance songs.This course is designed to introduce modern string players to the basic technique and repertoires of the citole and gittern. The principal objective is to develop a good plectrum technique, learn to accompany monophonic songs, and explore the contexts, sources, and repertoires related to these instruments directly from the original music manuscripts.
La cítola y la guiterna son algunos de los instrumentos de cuerda pulsada más característicos de la Edad Media. Estos florecieron entre los siglos XII y XIV y fueron utilizados tanto por juglares como por clérigos para interpretar música instrumental y acompañar canciones líricas y de danza.
Este curso está diseñado para introducir a músicos modernos de cuerda pulsada o frotada a la técnica básica y los repertorios de la cítola y la guiterna. El objetivo principal es desarrollar una buena técnica de púa, aprender a acompañar canciones monódicas y explorar los contextos, fuentes y repertorios relacionados con estos instrumentos directamente de los manuscritos musicales originales.
